
Since the brain cannot tell the difference between a lie and the truth, I believe even fake memories can boost our mood. My theory: If you look at the images and tell yourself funny stories about you living these moments, you will feel more joyful.
This is an innocuous remedy, but it could be as powerful as a good movie or book. Far less invasive than drugs or tiny robots surgically implanted in the brain to pinpoint and erase traumatic memories, as some scientists have attempted to do.
When I try it, at minimum, I achieve a state of hopefulness – at most, I reach a more powerful choice: A choice to be happy. I hope you try it and let me know how you feel?
